A hit-and-run on state Route 7 near Spanaway left one person dead on Wednesday night.

The victim was walking on the northbound shoulder of state Route 7 near 204th Street when a vehicle struck them. The vehicle drove off and was heading north, Washington State Patrol trooper John Dattilo posted on X at 8:44 p.m.

The vehicle is possibly a white sedan, Dattilo said. The identity of the pedestrian has not been released.
