Man killed in Tacoma near Emerald Queen Casino officially identified. No arrests made

A 33-year-old man who was killed in a shooting in Tacoma has been officially identified.

Sean Miller of Tacoma died from multiple gunshot wounds on July 15 near East R Street and East 28th Street. His manner of death was listed as a homicide, according to the Pierce County Medical Examiner’s Office.

Miller was shot just before 8 p.m. that day and succumbed to his injuries after live-saving measures were attempted near I-5 and the Emerald Queen Casino, The News Tribune previously reported.

The victim and the alleged shooter had an interaction earlier that day at a different location in Tacoma. It escalated into a disagreement, and the alleged shooter followed Miller in his car until they reached East 28th Street, the story said.

The shooter fired shots at Miller. Police later contacted the alleged shooter who retained an attorney, provided a statement and is cooperating with the investigation. No arrests have been made as of Tuesday.
