One woman shot, another pistol-whipped during Pierce County carjacking, deputies say

A shooting and carjacking in Spanaway left one woman seriously injured on Sunday, according to Pierce County deputies.

Deputies were dispatched at 5:14 p.m. to the 17000 block of 25th Avenue East to reports of a shooting. A woman was shot several times after she and her friend were carjacked, according to the Pierce County Sheriff’s Department on Facebook.

First aid was administered to the shooting victim. A woman said she was driving when a man shot her friend, the post said.

The women went to meet the man to sell him marijuana. The man pistol-whipped the driver, pushed her out and twice shot the woman who was in the backseat. He then drove off in the vehicle. The woman who’d been pistol-whipped shot at the man when he was driving away, the post said.

The shooting victim was taken to the hospital with serious injuries.

Anyone with information should contact the Sheriff’s Department, or make an anonymous tip through Crime Stoppers.
