Man shot during argument at a Tacoma business. Shooter is at large, police say

An argument that turned into a shooting left one man injured in Tacoma on Wednesday.

Tacoma police officers were dispatched at about 11:30 p.m. to a business in the 2500 block of Pacific Avenue for reports of a shooting. The injured man was lying on the ground with a gunshot wound to the torso, Tacoma Police Department spokesman detective William Muse told The News Tribune.

The man reportedly got into an argument with another man, pulled out a handgun, shot the victim and left the area, Muse said. What prompted the argument is not immediately clear, he added.

Muse said the victim was taken to a local hospital with what was initially determined to be non-life threatening injuries. The shooting is an active investigation.
