Man suspected of killing his father with bow and arrow arrested in Pierce County
A 25-year-old man is accused of killing his father following an argument on Friday.
Pierce County deputies were dispatched at 9:42 p.m. to help firefighters who were performing CPR on a man at his home in Graham. The 54-year-old man died at the scene, according to a Pierce County Sheriff’s Department Facebook post.
The man was possibly stabbed with a bow and arrow, Sgt. Darren Moss told The News Tribune on Monday. Deputies found a broken arrow on the scene and are awaiting confirmation from the Pierce County Medical Examiner’s Office. There were no guns involved in the homicide, Moss said.
Family members told deputies that the man was arguing with his son in the detached garage, the post said. Before deputies could arrest the son, he drove off in his black Chevrolet 3500 truck.
A Puyallup police officer saw the truck on Saturday at the 3900 block of Meridian East at around 4:43 p.m., the post said. The officer followed the truck until more officers and deputies arrived.
The son was arrested without further incident, the post said. He was booked into Pierce County Jail on suspicion of first-degree murder.
