Man shot and killed on Halloween in Tacoma. No arrests made as police investigate

A man was killed in a shooting just before midnight on Oct. 31 on South Birmingham Street, according to the Tacoma Police Department.

A shooting in Tacoma left one man dead on Thursday, police say.

Officers were dispatched just before midnight on Thursday to the 5600 block of South Birmingham Street for a reported shooting. A man had suffered several gunshot wounds, according to the Tacoma Police Department in a news release.

Tacoma Fire personnel attempted life-saving measures, but the man died from his injuries, the release said. Tacoma crime-scene technicians and detectives responded to investigate.

The shooting is being investigated as a homicide, the release said. No suspects have been arrested.

This is the 20th homicide in Tacoma in 2024.
