Man found dead in Tacoma from suspected homicide identified. Cause of death confirmed

A Tacoma man found dead inside a residence last week has been identified, according to the Pierce County Medical Examiner’s Office.

William Akers, 56, died on Nov. 27 near the 7400 block of South Oakes Street. He died from multiple blunt force injuries. His manner of death was listed as a homicide, the office wrote in a news release.

Tacoma police responded to the home around 9:30 p.m. where they found Akers’ body inside. Crime-scene technicians and detectives also responded to the location, The News Tribune previously reported.

As of Wednesday, no suspects have been identified or arrested, Tacoma Police Department spokesman detective William Muse said.
