Federal Way man sentenced after being convicted of paying to watch children sexually assaulted via webcam
A judge has sentenced a Federal Way man to almost 20 years in prison for paying adults to sexually assault children in the Philippines as he watched via webcam.
Andrew Mark Salazar, 66, pleaded guilty in April to child pornography. U.S. District Judge James L. Robart sentenced him Monday to 238 months in prison and a lifetime of supervised release.
Law enforcement became involved after Salazar took his phone into a store to transfer its contents to a new device and employees found images of children being assaulted, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office.
Federal Way police and the U.S. Secret Service investigated the child pornography crimes.
Salazar was convicted of raping a 13-year-old girl in Texas in 1975, prosecutors said.
