One man killed, one arrested in Tacoma. A homicide investigation is underway

One man has been arrested for a homicide that took place in Tacoma on Tuesday, according to police.

A man walked into the Northeast Tacoma Police Department substation just before 1 p.m. to report a homicide in the 4500 block of Heron Ridge Drive Northeast. A man was found with critical injuries after police arrived, according to the department in a news release.

He was pronounced dead after Tacoma Fire personnel arrived, the release said.

Probable cause was developed to arrest a man, the release said. A 28-year-old man was booked into the Pierce County Jail for first-degree aggravated murder, according to jail records.

Detectives and crime scene technicians are investigating. Police have not said how the man was killed.

This is the second homicide in Tacoma this year.
