Pierce County man killed after being run over by truck identified. Neighbor is charged

A Roy man who died after being run over by a truck three times last week has been identified, according to the Pierce County Medical Examiner’s Office.

Joshua Clemens, 41, died from multiple blunt-force injuries on March 12 near the 300 block of 384th Street South. His manner of death is listed as a homicide, the office wrote in a news release.

His neighbor, Keaton Scott Ross, 27, was charged with two counts of second-degree murder, court records show. He is being held at the Pierce County Jail on a $250,000 bail.

Prosecutors allege that prior to his death, Clemens was damaging Ross’ security cameras with a pole. Ross then confronted Clemens as he was in his truck. Ross allegedly ran over Clemens after the victim brandished a pocketknife, charging documents show.

In an interview with detectives Ross allegedly said he struck the victim because it was his “only means of defense,” documents show.
