Teen fatally stabs mother’s boyfriend, Pierce County deputies say

A homicide investigation is underway at a Pierce County apartment building Wednesday morning.

Deputies were dispatched at around 1:45 a.m. to the Coventry Court Apartments in the 1000 block of 76th Street Court East for a stabbing. A 16-year-old boy allegedly stabbed his mother’s boyfriend, who was having a dispute with her, Pierce County Sheriff’s Office deputy Carly Cappetto told The News Tribune.

The boyfriend was taken to a hospital in critical condition. He died from his injuries shortly after, she said.

The 16-year-old boy has been arrested and booked into Remann Hall on suspicion of second-degree murder, Cappetto said. The investigation is active with detectives and forensics teams on the scene.
