Update:

A man was arrested Friday for his alleged involvement in a fatal shooting in the 2700 block of South Orchard Street, Tacoma Police Department spokesperson Shelbie Boyd said in a phone call Monday. He is suspected of second-degree murder and unlawful possession of a firearm, she said.

A homicide investigation is underway after a man was found dead in Tacoma on Friday.

Officers were dispatched just after noon to the 2700 block of South Orchard Street for an unresponsive man. He was found dead from apparent gunshot wounds, according to the Tacoma Police Department in a news release.

Tacoma Fire Department personnel pronounced him dead at the scene, the release said.

Detectives and crime-scene technicians are investigating the man’s death as a homicide. No arrests appeared to have been made.

The release said that anyone with information is asked to call 911.

Around two hours later at around 2:30 p.m., there was another reported shooting, this time in the 3700 block of South Orchard Street.

One man had non-life threatening injuries, and no arrests have been made, TPD spokesperson officer Shelbie Boyd told The News Tribune.

She said at this point it did not appear to be related to the homicide.
