An investigation is underway after a possible stabbing and suspected arson at a house in Tacoma on Tuesday morning.

Tacoma fire personnel and police were dispatched at 4:43 a.m. to the 4000 block of South 34th Street . Three people had to be taken to local hospitals, according to the Tacoma Fire Department on X.

Two people were in serious condition, but one person has since been released from the hospital. Another person has life-threatening injuries, Tacoma Police Department spokesperson officer Shelbie Boyd told The News Tribune.

Firefighters put out the fire, the post said.

Police are investigating the alleged assault and arson.

A 29-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of four counts of first-degree assault domestic violence and three counts of first-degree arson, according to jail records.
