Man hit multiple times in drive-by shooting in Pierce County
A drive-by shooting outside a house in the Midland-area of Pierce County left a 20-year-old injured Tuesday morning.
The incident occurred shortly before 3 a.m. in the 9800 block of 10th Avenue East. The man was struck several times following an altercation, Pierce County Sheriff’s Office spokesperson deputy Carly Cappetto told The News Tribune.
Cappetto said the shooting happened on a roadway and might have stemmed from a group feud. About 20 to 30 gunshots were fired. Deputies saw shell casings scattered around the road and bullet holes all over a nearby house.
Deputies arrived fairly quickly. Cappetto said they applied tourniquets and chest seals before he was taken to a hospital in stable condition.
No arrests have been made.
A warrant is being served on the house that was covered with bullet holes in hopes of collecting firearms and other evidence related to the shooting.
