2 people shot during drive-by shooting in Tacoma; no arrests made

A drive-by shooting in a Tacoma intersection left two people injured early Thursday morning.

Officers were dispatched at about 12:05 a.m. to 29th Street Northeast and Norpoint Way , Tacoma Police Department spokesperson officer Shelbie Boyd told The News Tribune.

The suspected shooter was inside a vehicle that drove up to the victim’s car in the intersection. After firing gunshots at the victims’ car, the shooter’s vehicle drove off, according to Boyd.

Both victims sustained non-life threatening injuries. Boyd did not immediately have their ages or genders.

It is unknown if the shooting was random or targeted. Forensics went to the scene, and a detective will be assigned to investigate.

No arrests have been made.
