Two people arrested after shooting near Tacoma apartment building

Two people were arrested after a shooting in Tacoma left a person injured Monday afternoon.

Officers were dispatched just before 4:30 p.m. after a fight took place in an apartment building’s parking lot in the 2300 block of 96th Street South. Multiple 911 callers reported hearing gunfire, Tacoma Police Department spokesperson Officer Shelbie Boyd told The News Tribune.

No victims were at the scene when officers arrived, she said.

Officers learned a woman who suffered a non-life threatening gunshot wound went to a local hospital, Boyd said.

Two women in their 20s were arrested on suspicion of assault, aggravated assault and reckless endangerment.
