Puyallup man killed in hit-and-run in Packwood, state troopers say

A Puyallup man died in Lewis County on Friday morning after being struck by a vehicle that drove away, according to a Washington State Patrol press memo.

Around 7:30 a.m., a vehicle traveling west on U.S. Route 12 in Packwood hit a 66-year-old pedestrian, then drove off.

The pedestrian was found on the westbound shoulder and declared dead, the memo said.

The type of vehicle and the identity of the driver weren’t known Friday afternoon.

Washington State Patrol is investigating.
