Tacoma Police Department officers responded to two different shootings in South Tacoma early Saturday morning, police spokesperson Shelbie Boyd told The News Tribune.

At approximately 1:00 a.m., neighbors called 911 to report shots being fired at a party at Fawcett Avenue and South 86th Street. Authorities arrived to find houses and cars struck by gunfire at the scene, Boyd said.

A 17-year-old girl at the party was transported to the hospital for a non-life-threatening gunshot wound.

Later, at around 3:30 a.m., TPD officers arrived at 4300 South Pine Street to find a man with a gunshot wound, Boyd said. The victim was transported to a local hospital and is in critical condition.

The cause of the shootings, and whether the two incidents were connected, is unknown at this time, Boyd said.
