Tacoma motorcyclist dies after hitting car stopped on SR 7 near Elbe, WSP says

A Tacoma woman is dead after she struck a vehicle that stopped on a highway in Lewis County Monday afternoon.

A 32-year-old woman from Mineral was driving her blue Kia Spectra on state Route 7 near Elbe when she slowed to a stop just before 2:52 p.m., according to a Washington State Patrol news release.

Olivia A. Waller, 63 of Tacoma, was driving her motorcycle behind the car and struck it, the release said. She died at the scene.

The driver of the Kia was not injured, the release said.

Drugs or alcohol were allegedly involved, and charges are pending, the release said. The cause of the crash is under investigation.

The State Patrol arrested the driver of the Kia on suspicion of DUI, and they released her from jail pending further investigation, Trooper Dakota Russell told The News Tribune. Investigators are still trying to determine which driver was at-fault, Russell said.
