The Pierce County Sheriff’s Office arrested a stabbing suspect in Roy on Tuesday afternoon.

According to a Facebook post from PCSO on Wednesday, the 27-year-old man has been booked in the Pierce County Jail on suspicion of first-degree assault.

The stabbing happened April 26 around 7 p.m., the post said, in the parking lot at the La Perla Del Mar Mexican restaurant in Tacoma.

“When deputies arrived, they located a 38-year-old male with multiple stab wounds, and the suspect had fled the scene,” the post said. “...The male remains in critical condition.”

Detectives located the suspect on May 5, the post said, and determined he had barricaded himself in a home in the 2500 block of 341st Street Court South in Roy.

“SWAT was called out to handle the scene, and after about an hour of negotiations, the suspect came out of the home peacefully,” the post said.
