A law-enforcement pursuit of a stolen vehicle ended in an arrest after the driver crashed the car in downtown Tacoma on Tuesday, according to police.

At 3:35 p.m., Tacoma Police observed a stolen vehicle on 9th Street and Yakima Avenue, public information officer Shelbie Boyd told The News Tribune.

TPD pursued the car until the vehicle crashed into another car at “low speed” near 21st Street and South C Street, Boyd said.

The other car’s occupants reported no injuries, Boyd said.

The driver of the stolen vehicle was taken to the hospital for a medical evaluation prior to being sent to the Pierce County Jail. They will be booked on suspicion of possessing stolen property, Boyd said.
