Police are investigating after a shooting near Bonney Lake left two people injured.

Carly Cappetto, spokesperson for the Pierce County Sheriff’s Office, told The News Tribune in an email Monday that two people showed up to an emergency room in Bonney Lake at about 11:09 a.m. Sunday.

“Through an initial investigation it was determined they were shot [in the] 8000 block of 214th Ave E in unincorporated Pierce County,” Cappetto wrote. “The individuals were allegedly in an outbuilding on the multi-acreage property when they were shot.”

Their injuries were not life-threatening, Cappetto wrote, but both people were “not very cooperative with deputies at the hospital.”

Police went to the address at 214th Avenue East, Cappetto wrote, and conducted a safety sweep.

“During the initial sweep at least one shell casing was located in an outbuilding on the property,” Cappetto wrote.

The investigation is ongoing, Cappetto said.
