Man found dead at home in East Pierce County. Investigation ongoing

A man was found dead near Summit early Wednesday.

According to a Facebook post from the Pierce County Sheriff’s Office, police responded to a call of a man found dead in a home at 2:40 a.m. in the 12500 block of Woodland Avenue East.

When they arrived, they found a 35-year-old man inside the home with “multiple deadly injuries.”

“The preliminary investigation indicates there was homicidal violence in a bedroom that eventually led outside the home,” the post said. “...We have no suspect in custody at this time. Detectives and forensic investigators are on scene and it remains an active investigation.”

Residents with information should call 911.
