‘Viciously attacked.’ Pierce County deputies seek leads in man’s assault

A man was assaulted outside of Deer Creek Apartment Homes in Puyallup on July 4. The Pierce County Sheriff’s Office is requesting the public’s help in finding the offender.

According to deputy Carly Cappetto, spokesperson for The Pierce County Sheriff’s Office, the assault took place near Building 3 of the apartment complex, 6115 111th St. E. At around 10:15 p.m., the man was “viscously attacked” and left on the sidewalk. The man is in critical condition.

Cappetto said the man was followed by people on foot to the apartment, which authorities believe is related to the assault. The News Tribune asked if the man lived at the apartment and who was involved in the attack. Cappetto said it unknown whether the man lived at the apartment and that the office has no information on who committed the assault.

Cappetto said the sheriff’s office is requesting anyone with information, including photo or surveillance footage, to come forward to aid the investigation.
