Man, 92, dies a week after head-on crash in Tacoma
A 92-year-old involved in a head-on crash in Tacoma died at a hospital Saturday, a week after the wreck.
Richard Hoyt of Burien died at St. Joseph Medical Center, the Pierce County Medical Examiner’s Office said Sunday.
The State Patrol gave this account of the wreck:
Hoyt was driving a blue 2007 Nissan Versa on Sept. 20 the wrong way on southbound Interstate 705.
It hit a southbound 2005 Chevrolet pickup on the ramp to northbound Interstate 5.
The 22-year-old driver of the pickup, from Puyallup, was not injured.
A 70-year-old passenger in the Nissan was also taken to St. Joseph.
No drugs or alcohol were involved.
