Sex offender registrations in Pierce County

The following convicted sex offenders have recently registered to live in Pierce County.

Each is categorized as a Level 3 sex offender — those considered most likely to commit similar crimes. None is wanted by law enforcement officers at this time.

All convicted sex offenders registered to live in Tacoma and Pierce County are listed on the Pierce County Sheriff’s Department’s website at piercesheriff.org.

Michael W. Gillaspy

Age: 57.

Description: 5 feet 8 and 170 pounds, with brown hair and blue eyes.

Where registered to live: 2500 block of Martin Luther King Jr. Way, Tacoma.

Criminal history: Convicted in 2004 of luring with sexual motivation and indecent exposure with sexual motivation in Pierce County for approaching three girls, ages 11, 12 and 15, and asking for directions to a strip club. He then exposed himself and masturbated in front of them. Convicted in 2007 of indecent exposure in Pierce County for exposing himself to a 3-year-old girl at an apartment complex.

Sex offender treatment: Did not participate in a treatment program while incarcerated.

Travis A. Empey

Age: 32.

Description: 6 feet 4 and 200 pounds, with brown hair and blue eyes.

Where registered to live: 1000 block of Sprague Avenue, Tacoma.

Criminal history: Convicted in 2009 of second-degree child molestation in Pierce County for sexually assaulting an 11-year-old girl. Convicted in 2001 on three counts of fourth-degree sexual assault in Wisconsin for sexually assaulting a 15-year-old girl and two boys, ages 11 and 15. Has three convictions in Pierce County for failure to register as a sex offender.

Sex offender treatment: Did not participate in a treatment program while incarcerated.

Nathan J. Wolfe

Age: 36.

Description: 6 feet 2 and 220 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes.

Where registered to live: 12000 block of Lakeholme Road, Lakewood.

Criminal history: Convicted in 1994 on two counts of first-degree child molestation in Pierce County for sexually assaulting a 2-year-old girl. Convicted in 1996 of first-degree child molestation in Pierce County for molesting a 5-year-old boy.

Sex offender treatment: Unknown whether he participated in a treatment program while incarcerated.
