Trigger-lock giveaway Saturday in Tacoma to promote gun safety

To encourage gun safety, a coalition of public and private partners will give away free trigger locks and lock boxes Saturday.

The giveaway will be from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Tacoma’s Bass Pro Shop, 7905 S. Hosmer St.

Sponsors are Mary Bridge Children’s Hospital, Seattle Children’s Hospital, Harborview Injury Prevention and Research Center, Safe Kids Pierce County and the Tacoma-Pierce County Health Department.

Representatives from the organizations will discuss safe gun storage.

Sponsors noted that supplies of equipment were limited, and would be provided on a first-come, first served basis.
