Four evacuated to hospitals from rave at Tacoma Dome

Tacoma Fire Department paramedics escorted four people to hospitals from a rave at the Tacoma Dome late Friday.

Tacoma Fire spokesman Joe Meinecke said two of the people appeared to be heavily under the influence of alcohol and two appeared to be experiencing side effects from drug use.

Tacoma Fire staffed the event, called Tacoma Freaknight, with nine paramedics and other firefighters. They evaluated the health of 83 people over the course of the night.

“It ended up being fairly low key,” Meinecke said.

Tacoma Freaknight continues tonight with more performances. It’s a Halloween-themed rave with electronic music headliners.

The Fire Department plans to staff the event with a similar number of paramedics as it used on Friday.
