Lakewood police to collect donations for annual food drive

Lakewood police will collect donations Wednesday for the sixth annual Fallen Officers Food Drive.

Volunteers will be on hand at the Lakewood Police Department station, 9401 Lakewood Drive SW, from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. to accept donations.

All proceeds will benefit the Emergency Food Network, which provides food to 73 food banks, meal sites and shelters in Pierce County.

The drive honors Lakewood police Sgt. Mark Renninger and officers Tina Griswold, Greg Richards and Ronnie Owens, who were gunned down in a Parkland coffee shop in 2009.
