Man in latex mask robs South Hill bank

The man who robbed Banner Bank in the 13600 block of Meridian Avenue East at about 5 p.m. walked behind the counter and demanded cash from the tellers. He was described as 6 feet and 230 pounds, wearing a green coat, khaki pants, brown shoes, latex gloves and the mask.

A man in a latex mask robbed a South Hill bank at gunpoint Monday, investigators said.

He showed a handgun about 5 p.m. at the Banner Bank in the 13600 block of Meridian Avenue East, walked behind the counter and demanded cash from the tellers, according to Tacoma-Pierce County Crime Stoppers.

He threatened to start shooting and forced the workers to put cash in a black bag, and then he left, investigators said.

He was described as 6 feet and 230 pounds. He wore a green coat, khaki pants, brown shoes, latex gloves and the mask, which covered his entire head.

Surveillance footage shows him in the building.

Anyone with information is asked to call 1-800-222-TIPS (8477). Tips are anonymous and can lead to a reward.
