Police investigate Fircrest shooting
Someone fired eight shots into a house in Fircrest on Monday night, police Chief John Cheesman said Wednesday.
The shooting happened just after 11 p.m. near West Mount Drive and 40th Street West.
No one was hurt in the shooting, Cheesman said.
No one has been arrested and investigators have found no reason why the house was fired upon.
“We tried to put together why this house might have been targeted,” he said. “There’s no reason we can figure.”
The chief said the residents were home at the time, and called police. Some neighbors heard the shots, but thought they were fireworks, he said.
“People heard it, but the only ones to call were actually the residents,” he said.
Cheesman said the eight casings investigators found at the house were from a small caliber gun.
“We’re having those analyzed and looked into,” he said.
Anyone with information is asked to call the police non-emergency number at 253-798-4721.
