Pierce County sheriff’s deputy in wreck on Bridgeport Way
A Pierce County sheriff’s deputy and another driver suffered minor injuries after a collision on Bridgeport Way Southwest on Friday.
The collision occurred about 4 p.m. where Bridgeport crosses Interstate 5 in Lakewood.
Sheriff’s spokesman Ed Troyer said the driver of a car rear-ended another vehicle, sending that car into the path of the deputy who was headed in the other direction.
The result, according to Troyer, was a “low-speed collision.”
Traffic was snarled for some time while the cars were towed and an investigation completed.
