Man sentenced to 21 months in Tacoma drive-by shooting

A 24-year-old man who fired a gun at a Tacoma father and son was sentenced Friday to one year, nine months in prison.

Adam Love, 24, pleaded guilty to one count of drive-by shooting earlier this month.

The incident occurred June 10 in the 7200 block of South Alder Street.

A man told police he was driving that day when Love and another person yelled at him as he was stopped at a light. The driver told his father, and they walked around the neighborhood looking for Love, court records show.

They found Love in a vehicle, and he and the son exchanged words, the records show. Love then drove away, firing the gun as he left.

No one was hurt.

Defense attorney Dana Ryan told The News Tribune recently that Love has a 3-month-old baby and is looking forward to being released and raising his child.
