South Hill man killed in crash by suspected drunken driver
A South Hill man died late Monday after a suspected drunken driver ran a red light and plowed into the man’s vehicle, Puyallup police said.
Jose Luis Gonzalez-Olaguez, 46, was traveling south on South Meridian about 11:20 p.m. when a woman driving a truck ran a red light at East Pioneer Street and struck Gonzalez-Olaguez’s vehicle.
He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Officers arrested the other driver, a 24-year-old Tacoma woman, on suspicion of vehicular homicide. She was not hurt in the wreck.
Police said it appears the woman had been drinking.
