Man robs Spanaway bank at knifepoint

Pierce County sheriff’s detectives are trying to identify a masked man who robbed a Spanaway bank at knifepoint last month.

The man walked into a Harborstone Credit Union branch at 136 167th St. S. about 5:45 p.m. Jan. 22, approached a teller and pulled out a large knife with a curved blade.

He yelled at the tellers to give him money, then ran out the front door of the bank.

No one was hurt in the robbery.

The robber is described as a white man in his 20s, about 5 feet 8 to 5 feet 10 with a medium build. He was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, dark sweatpants, a black ski mask and dark baseball cap during the holdup.
