Man accused of beating Lakewood toddler pleads guilty to lesser charge
A Lakewood man accused of beating his 2-year-old daughter in May has pleaded guilty to attempted first-degree child assault.
Pierce County prosecutors said 21-year-old Seaton Moore Jr. became angry when the girl started throwing up her oatmeal.
They alleged he beat the child with his hands and a belt, submerged her in water and dangled her from a third-story balcony.
Police responding to an unrelated call said they saw the girl hanging out the window, and officers found her covered in bruises.
Moore initially was charged with first-degree child assault, but pleaded guilty to the lesser charge Friday.
He was ordered held without bail and is to be sentenced later this year.
