Man wounded in Pierce County drive-by shooting
A 30-year-old man was shot and wounded early Thursday when someone opened fire on his Pierce County house, according to the Sheriff’s Department.
The drive-by shooting took place about 2:50 a.m. in the 8500 block of Golden Given Road East.
The victim “heard loud music outside and went to the window,” sheriff’s spokesman Ed Troyer said. “Once he got to the window, multiple shots were fired.”
Investigators believe the shooter took aim from the parking lot of a mini mart across the street. It’s unknown whether that person was the one playing music.
Witnesses reported seeing a gold Chevrolet Suburban speed westbound on 85th Street East.
The motive for the shooting appears to be drug-related, Troyer said.
The victim’s condition was not immediately known.
Although detectives have an idea of who the shooter might be, no arrest has been made.
