Sex offender registrations in Pierce County

The following convicted sex offenders have recently registered to live in Pierce County.

Each is categorized as a Level 3 sex offender — those considered most likely to commit similar crimes. None is wanted by law enforcement officers at this time.

All convicted sex offenders registered to live in Tacoma and Pierce County are listed on the Sheriff’s Department’s website at piercesheriff.org.

James Farnan

Age: 44.

Description: 6 feet 1 and 278 pounds, with brown hair and green eyes.

Where registered to live: 2300 block of South Fawcett Avenue, Tacoma.

Criminal history: Convicted in 1996 of attempted second-degree rape and fourth-degree assault in King County for attacking his 66-year-old landlord and trying to strangle her. Convicted in 1990 of fourth-degree assault in King County for attacking a real estate agent who came to take photos of the home where Farnan was living.

Sex offender treatment: Admitted to the Special Commitment Center in 2004 and participated in a treatment program.

Joe Todd

Age: 41.

Description: 5 feet 10 and 180 pounds, brown hair and blue eyes.

Where registered to live: 700 block of South 17th Street, Tacoma.

Criminal history: Convicted 1997 of first-degree child molestation and second-degree assault in Clark County for sexually assaulting two neighbor boys, ages 6 and 8. Convicted in 1991 of first-degree child rape in Clark County for assaulting a 3-year-old boy. Convicted in 1990 of indecent liberties in Yakima County for sexually assaulting a 5-year-old neighbor.

Sex offender treatment: Committed to the Special Commitment Center in 2009 and participated in a treatment plan.

Phillip E. Burrington

Age: 66.

Description: 5 feet 11 and 150 pounds, with brown hair and blue eyes.

Where registered to live: 4300 block of 72nd Street, Tacoma.

Criminal history: Convicted in 1996 of third-degree child molestation and communication with a minor for immoral purposes in Lewis County for sexually assaulting two boys, ages 15 and 16, after providing them beer at a cabin. Convicted in 1975 of indecent liberties in Pierce County.

Sex offender treatment: Participated in a treatment program while incarcerated.

Michael Eason

Age: 42.

Description: 6 feet 4 and 255 pounds, with gray hair and hazel eyes.

Where registered to live: 3300 block of Fawcett Avenue, Tacoma.

Criminal history: Convicted in 1996 of first-degree child molestation in Pierce County for sexually assaulting two girls, ages 3 and 5. He has several convictions for telephone harassment with sexual motivation.

Sex offender treatment: Participated in a treatment program while incarcerated but was terminated.
