Man wounded in Tacoma shooting early Saturday
A shooting early Saturday in Tacoma sent one man to the hospital with life-threatening injuries and resulted in two people in police custody.
About 3:45 a.m., dispatch received multiple calls about shots fired in the area of East 35th and East L streets, Tacoma police spokeswoman Loretta Cool said. Police arrived to find a large crowd in the street and multiple guns had been fired. A 24-year-old man was transported to St. Joseph Medical Center with life-threatening injuries.
A short time later, during a vehicle stop, police detained a man and a woman, arrested them and booked them for a drive-by and weapons charges, Cool said.
Several callers and witnesses were interviewed at the scene. The investigation is ongoing.
