Graham man dies after fatally shooting wife Saturday

The Graham man who fatally shot his wife Saturday morning before trying to kill himself has died.

Their 4-year-old child had called 911 about 8 a.m. to say her parents were on the floor of their house in the 19400 block of 91st Avenue East, Pierce County Sheriff’s Department spokesman Ed Troyer said Saturday.

Pierce County medical examiners identified the woman Sunday as Jessica Anderson, 32, and the man as Kerry Anderson, 36.

Troyer said Kerry Anderson, a former member of the military, had recently lost his job at a hospital because of post-traumatic stress disorder.

The couple’s three children were home during the shooting, Troyer said, but were unharmed. They are in the care of relatives.

Kerry Anderson had been taken to St. Joseph Medical Center in Tacoma, where he died from his self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Emails sent by people saying they were Jessica Anderson’s family members say Kerry Anderson had been discharged recently from the Department of Veterans Affairs system, but that he did not work at a hospital. The emails also said the couple’s three children were boys ages 5 and 4 and a 6-month-old girl. The News Tribune on Sunday was unable to confirm that information.
