Man wanted for robbing Roy convenience store

Pierce County sheriff’s detectives are asking for help identifying a man who robbed a convenience store in Roy.

Surveillance cameras captured the robber inside the Country Convenience Store about 1:45 p.m. April 17.

Investigators said he walked into the store in the 35200 block of 40th Avenue South and demanded cash from the clerk. When the clerk refused, the man pulled out a revolver and snatched the cash drawer from the register.

No one was hurt.

The robber was described as a white man in his 50s, about 5 feet 6 and 230 pounds with a short gray beard. He was wearing a black beanie, black shorts and a green and gray T-shirt.

Anyone with information in his identity is asked to call Tacoma-Pierce County Crime Stoppers at 800-222-TIPS (8477).
