Lakewood police arrest man in library with gun
Police went to the Lakewood Library on Saturday looking for a man with a gun stuffed into his waistband.
The first time police went to the library at 6300 Wildaire Road SW, they couldn’t find the man a caller had described.
The second time, they found him in front of a computer, but he didn’t want to cooperate, police spokesman Lt. Chris Lawler said Monday. So officers took him down and removed a .22-caliber handgun from his waistband.
The 20-year-old Tacoma man was arrested for resisting arrest and illegally possessing a pistol. He will face charges in Lakewood Municipal Court.
The man had an outstanding warrant for residential burglary in Tacoma. His bail for the crime was set at $20,000 on Monday in Pierce County Superior Court.
