Police: Report of kidnapping in Puyallup appears to be mistake
It doesn’t look like a kidnapping reported in Puyallup Friday night actually happened, police said the next morning.
An employee at the Burger King restaurant in the 4000 block of South Meridian Street told police she saw a woman in the back of a van who appeared naked, tied up and gagged, Puyallup police spokesman Scott Engle said in a statement Saturday.
Investigators found the van and its occupants in the Burien area early Saturday, and determined there had never been a woman in the vehicle, and that no crime had happened.
“It appears the reporting person in this case was mistaken in what she believed she saw,” Engle’s statement said.
