Sex offender registrations in Pierce County

The following convicted sex offenders have recently registered to live in Pierce County.

Each is categorized as a Level 3 sex offender — those considered most likely to commit similar crimes. None is wanted by law enforcement officers at this time.

All convicted sex offenders registered to live in Tacoma and Pierce County are listed on the Sheriff’s Department’s website at piercesheriff.org.

Royce Z. Goodenough

Age: 54.

Description: 5 feet 8 and 225 pounds, with gray hair and blue eyes.

Where registered to live: 10900 block of 47th Avenue Southwest, Lakewood.

Criminal history: Convicted in 1999 on three counts of first-degree child molestation in Klickitat County for repeatedly sexually assaulting a 10-year-old girl.

Other: Has convictions for third-degree assaulting and menacing, DUI, disorderly conduct, assault of a public safety officer, third-degree criminal mischief and violation of a protection order.

Sex offender treatment: Participated in but did not complete a treatment program while incarcerated.

Daniel E. Carnes

Age: 51.

Description: 6 feet and 195 pounds, black hair and hazel eyes.

Where registered to live: 12200 block of Pacific Highway Southwest, Lakewood.

Criminal history: Convicted in 1987 of first-degree rape in Pierce County for sexually assaulting a woman after breaking into her home and threatening her with garden shears. Convicted in 1996 of residential burglary with sexual motivation and indecent exposure for breaking into a house to expose himself to two young girls and later exposing himself to a woman in the neighborhood.

Other: Has prior convictions for third-degree theft and criminal trespassing, third-degree assault, unlawful imprisonment, harassment and threats to kill, second-degree burglary and residential burglary.

Sex offender treatment: Did not participate in a treatment plan while incarcerated.

Irvin B. Lyle

Age: 65.

Description: 5 feet 9 and 185 pounds, with gray hair and blue eyes.

Where registered to live: 2500 block of Martin Luther King Jr. Way, Tacoma.

Criminal history: Convicted in 1991 of first-degree rape, first-degree kidnapping and second-degree assault in King County for sexually and physically harassing a woman whom he threatened with a knife. Has four convictions for failing to register as a sex offender in Pierce County.

Sex offender treatment: Unknown whether he participated in a treatment program while incarcerated.
