Three men charged in Pierce County prostitution sting

Three of the six men arrested last week during an undercover prostitution sting in Pierce County have been charged.

Prosecutors are still reviewing charges against the other three men.

Thirteen women and girls were arrested during the operation for misdemeanor prostitution; it is unclear whether they will be charged

The FBI Task Force, Pierce County Sheriff’s Department and other agencies collaborated on an undercover sting where detectives contacted escorts online and set up dates at an undisclosed location.

Officials wanted to combat human trafficking and “rescue underage victims of pimps,” according to court documents.

All three men charged are suspected of acting as pimps and driving the women or girls to meet their “dates.”

Charged were the following men:

▪ Clifford Godbey, 29, pleaded not guilty to two counts of second-degree promoting prostitution. He is jailed in lieu of $25,000 bail.

▪ Calvin Peterson, 55, was released on his own recognizance after pleading not guilty to second-degree promoting prostitution.

▪ Dartanion Horace, 23, pleaded not guilty to second-degree promoting prostitution and was released on his own recognizance.
