2 men stab each other in Kent

Kent police are investigating a stabbing that left two men wounded Tuesday morning at a bus stop near Pacific Highway South and Kent-Des Moines Road.

A little before 11 a.m., officers responded to the intersection after a report of a stabbing that sent two men to a hospital, according to a Kent Police Department news release.

One man approached a second man who was waiting at the bus stop and stabbed him with an unknown object, then ran away, the release says. The injured man chased the alleged assailant around area businesses and then into oncoming traffic, eventually catching him and stabbing him back, according to police.

The release does not indicate what kind of weapon was used in the second stabbing.

The severity of the men’s injuries wasn’t immediately known, according to the release.

Police don’t know the nature of the relationship between the men, and the motive for the stabbings is unclear, the release says. Officers are interviewing potential witnesses and following up on leads.
