Teen accused of street racing arraigned in death of Frederickson motorcyclist
A man suspect of causing a fatal wreck while street racing was arraigned Monday.
Not guilty pleas were entered on behalf of 18-year-old Jovell Swayzer for one count of vehicular homicide and felony hit-and-run.
Retired Judge Rosanne Buckner, filling in on a temporary basis, set bail at $25,000.
Rollin Gray, 61 of Frederickson, died after the April 19 wreck.
Pierce County prosecutors allege Swayzer was racing a schoolmate in the 3100 block of 182nd Street East when Swayzer cut in front of the other teenager, who lost control and hit Gray’s motorcycle.
