Sex offender registrations in Pierce County

The following convicted sex offenders have recently registered to live in Pierce County.

Each is categorized as a Level 3 sex offender — those considered most likely to commit similar crimes. None is wanted by law enforcement officers at this time.

All convicted sex offenders registered to live in Tacoma and Pierce County are listed on the Pierce County Sheriff’s Department’s website at piercesheriff.org.

Keith A. Hatton

Age: 48.

Description: 6 feet 1 inch and 205 pounds, bald with brown eyes.

Where registered to live: 8600 block of South Hosmer Street, Tacoma.

Criminal history: Convicted in 1986 of first-degree criminal sexual assault in Wayne County, Michigan, for sexually assaulting a woman at knifepoint.

Sex offender treatment: He did not participate in a treatment program while incarcerated.

Dennis M. Hopkins

Age: 66.

Description: 5 feet 7 inches and 180 pounds, black hair and brown eyes.

Where registered to live: 2300 block of Fawcett Avenue, Tacoma.

Criminal history: Convicted in 1993 on three counts of first-degree child rape in Lewis County for sexually assaulting three boys and a girl. Hopkins would nail the children to the wall by their clothing while he assaulted them and often handcuffed them and threatened them with a knife.

Sex offender treatment: He participated in a treatment program while incarcerated.

Paul T. Makosky

Age: 40.

Description: 5 feet 9 inches and 189 pounds, brown hair with hazel eyes.

Where registered to live: 5200 block of South Warner Street, Tacoma.

Criminal history: Convicted in 1994 of fourth-degree criminal sexual misconduct in Michigan for sexually assaulting a 14-year-old girl. He also was convicted in 2006 of indecent exposure in King County and has two convictions for failing to register as a sex offender from 2007 and 2009.

Sex offender treatment: It is unclear if he participated in a treatment program while incarcerated.
