Documentary highlights schools making change
Parents and Friends for Tacoma Public Schools will present a film screening of “Beyond Measure” at 6:30 p.m. Nov. 29 at the University of Puget Sound. The community group is partnering with the university’s School of Education to share the film, which challenges assumptions about the current educational system.
The film is billed as “a response to years of underfunding, overtesting, and data driven efforts” in public education. It presents the stories of schools that are solving problems from the bottom up. The screening will be followed by a discussion.
The film will be shown in the Tacoma Room in Thomas Hall on the college campus, 1500 N. Warner St., Tacoma. Admission is $10 in advance or $15 at the door. Go to tinyurl.com/zb2d86y to purchase.
