Krishnadasan seeks seat on Peninsula School Board

Peninsula schools volunteer Deborah Krishnadasan plans to run for the Peninsula School Board. In her candidacy announcement, she said she’d seek to represent Director District 2.

The board seat will be on the Nov. 3 ballot.

“I began volunteering in the Peninsula School District when my children started at Purdy Elementary," Krishnadasan said in a news release. "My desire to enhance my own children’s educational experience has evolved into a strong passion to help every single child that walks through the doors of a Peninsula school.”

Krishnadasan said teamwork among parents, members of the community the school board and the district can help enhance an already strong program in the district.

“ I want to work to meet the needs of all students while considering the economic conditions we all face,” she added.

Krishnadasan has 15 years of experience working in the oil/gas and high-tech industries. She worked for Burlington Resources, Visio and Microsoft before moving to Gig Harbor seven years ago. She and her husband, Baiya, are raising three children, Gabriel, 13; Audrey, 11; and Alexander, 8.
